The Minister of Housing and Chairman of the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects H.E. Eng. Basim bin Yacob AlHamer presided over the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects’s weekly meeting today, at which matters related to various government tenders were discussed. Afterwards, the Opening Committee of the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects opened 134 bids related to 21 tenders and one auction for 11 purchasing authorities.

One tender was opened for the Ministry of Health which requested the services of eight manpower to work in various administrative offices within the Ministry. 18 bids were received for this tender.

For the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, one tender was opened for the new IP security and surveillance system. 16 bids were received for this tender.

For the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (Municipalities Affairs), six bids were received for the supply and delivery of biodegradable garbage bags for all municipalities. For the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (Works Affairs), 19 bids were received for a tender related to the improvement Sh. Humood bin Subah Avenue in Riffa; and 13 bids were received for a tender for the upgrade of the E3G network.

One tender was also opened for the Ministry of Housing (Saudi Fund for Development), the project covers the construction of 194 houses in Qalali and 223 houses at Wadi Al Sail, Riffa, and three bids were received.

One tenders were opened for Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) for the leasing of vehicles for a period of four years. The tender was for type of heavy vehicles, and nine bids were received

Four tenders were also opened for the Central Stores Directorate – EWA. Five bids were received for the supply of various types of 1500 KVA transformers; Four bids were received for the supply of XLPE 11 KV cables tender; four bids were received for the supply of XLPE 66 KV cables; and three bids were received for the supply of motorized ring main units.

A tender for the strategic review of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company’s business and operating model received three bids; while a auction for the leasing of land in Samaheej for a period of 20 years from the Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), received two bids.

In the oil and gas sector, three tenders were opened for Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). The first, for the provision of quantity surveying services to cover all the company premises, received six bids. Also tender for the purchase of a heater tube support received three bids. Finally, one bid were received for the. Purchase of Thermodyne spare parts.

In the aviation sector, five tenders were opened for Gulf Air. The first tender was for the appointment of an audio and video agency, for which three bids were received. The second tender was for an engine maintenance contract for the Airbus A320 CFM56 5B engine, for which four bids were received. three bids were received for the procurement and implementation of a revenue analysis and sales planning solution. The fourth tender was opened for the outsourcing of the Gulf Air Contact Centre operations, for which three bids were received. Finally, three bids were received for the provision of aircraft technical support and line maintenance services at Mumbai International Airport, India.

 

The tender process was attended by representatives of the bidding companies and companies participating in the tenders. In line with the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects’s guidelines on competitiveness and fairness, the bids will be assessed on all relevant technical and financial criteria before being awarded to the best fit candidate.
