The Minister of Housing and Chairman of the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects H.E. Eng. Basim bin Yacob AlHamer presided over the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects’s weekly meeting, which they discussed tenders related requests regarding to various government tenders, afterwards, Bahrain Economic Supply Projects, the independent regulator of Bahrain Government procurement activities, opened 72 bids related to 23 tenders for 15 purchasing authorities at its weekly bid opening session today.

Among these were an auction and two Tenders were opend for the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning. The auction was for the invest and operate of Ras Rayaa Harbour at Diyar Al Muharraq for a period of 25 years. One bid was opened for this tender. The other two tenders are for the procurement of uniforms and safety shoes, for which 11 bids were received; and for the operation, maintenance and management of the SCADA system for Tubli Water Pollution Control Centre and TSE network, for which 5 bids were received.

And for Ministry of Health, one bid was received tender for the supply of single-use insulin pump consumable items for Type 1 diabetes.

Three tenders were opened for the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA). The first, for the implementation of a meter data management system for an energy integrated smart grid platform, received 3 bids. The second, for the refurbishment of building 6 and the asphalting and construction of a boundary wall at the EDD compound in Juffair, received 12 bids. The third, for preliminary assessment of the suitability of a Nuclear Program in The Kingdom of Bahrain, for which 1 bid were received. One bid was received for Sustainable Energy Centre (SEC) to potable water production and waste water treatment pilot project.

For the Central Stores Directorate (EWA), 3 bids were opened for its tender for the supply XLPE 220 KV cables.

Bahrain Real Estate Investment (Edamah) invited interested bidders to submit their proposals for a ground lease of a property in Um Al Hassam which currently holds several vacant buildings, two bids were opened for this auction.

In the oil and gas sector, three tenders were opened for Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). The first was for the provision of Bapco Reliability and Integrity Management (BRIM) training, to develop two different versions of the training for senior managers and superintendents/specialists, one bid was submitted for this tender. The second pertains to support and update services for Aspentech control and technical software which Bapco uses to manage various processes, one bid was received for this tender. The third tender was for the supply of a batch of fresh catalyst for No. 2 tail gas treating unit (2TGTU) for internal inspection during March 2020, for which 3 bids were received. And for Tatweer Petroleum, a tender was opened for Coring Analysis Services, 5 bids were received for this tender. These services are required for critical analysis of core samples to support the ongoing field development and Enhanced Oil Recovery evaluations for the Bahrain Field.

The Ministry of Transportation & Telecommunications invited bids to expand and upgrade its Air Traffic Management systems, 4 bids were opened for this tender. Also in the aviation sector, the Gulf Aviation Academy submitted a tender for a special flight simulation software called UPRT Prevention and Recovery Training, one bid was received for this tender. One bid was also received for requesting external audit services for Gulf Air Holding Group.

Three bids were received for Bahrain Airport Company’s auction inviting proposals for the provision of travel agency services at Bahrain International Airport’s new terminal.  One bids were received for Gulf Air’s tender for Sale and Leaseback Financing of four (4) Boeing 787-9 Aircraft. One bids were received for Gulf Air’s tender for aircraft technical support and line maintenance at Velana International Airport Male, Maldives.

Two tenders were opened for the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). The first, for the removal of all damaged glass windows and replacement with matching glass at a building at the BIC, received 4 bids. The second, for the removal of existing external glass cladding and replacement with a new glass type aluminium composite panel, received 2 bids.

Finally, 2 bids were received for the supply of 2600 MT of layer mash to the General Poultry Company (Dawajin).

The bids are assessed on all relevant technical and financial criteria and the tenders will be awarded in line with the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects’s guidelines on fairness and competitiveness.
