The Bahrain Economic Supply Projects has announced its upcoming first fully online Procurement following the launch of the second phase of the online procurement system.
The move comes as the Board has recently planned to moved to automate all the auctions all Procurements, beginning from the month of April in implementation of the directives and decisions issued by the cabinet which urged all ministries and governmental agencies to quickly digitalise their services.
The first tender has been unveiled is for providing consultancy services to replace 10 electrical transformers for the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA).
The Board explained in a statement that establishments/ Interested Companies should submit their bids through our accredited Agents for central announcements, affirming that the proposals will be transparently handled by a committee responsible of receiving and reviewing them, while the winner would be announced immediately after the evaluation process.
“This is a turning point for us and a new milestone in our history as we are witnessing the automating of all the tender submission processes,” HE Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chairman of the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects said. She further explained that the launch of the Procurement 4.0 came in time in such circumstances the Kingdom and the World are going through due to the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, pointing out that this step will encourage more suppliers and contractors to present their bids online and eliminate the traditional method.
It’s worth noting that the Bahrain Economic Supply Projects earlier launched the second stage of the online tender system on April 22, 2020, automating all tenders and auctions via the introduction of the Procurement 4.0. The tenders announced before this launch are being handled as per the processes mentioned in each one’s documents.
